HausZwei Homes is proud to share that our founder and managing partner, Kevin Polite, has been appointed by Commissioner Chakira Johnson (District 4) to serve on The DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Citizens Advisory Board.
This 11-member advisory board provides guidance and community-driven input to help shape policy, programming, and investments related to parks, recreation, and cultural affairs across DeKalb County. Members are appointed by the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Commissioners, Board of Education, DeKalb Municipal Association, and the county’s legislative delegation.
Kevin has called Midway Woods home since 2004 and is deeply rooted in the community. As a founding member of Friends of Dearborn Park, he has been actively involved in preserving and improving one of the neighborhood’s most cherished green spaces—Dearborn Park, located right in the heart of Midway Woods.
“Dearborn Park has always been more than just a green space—it’s a gathering place, a safe play area for families, and a reflection of the strength of our neighborhood. I’m honored to serve on this advisory board and look forward to advocating for equitable access to parks and resources across all of DeKalb County,” said Kevin Polite.
Through this new role, Kevin plans to champion equity in park access, ensuring that all communities—regardless of zip code—have safe, well-maintained parks and inclusive recreational programming.
