30316 Home Sales Report 2019 5-Year Update and New City in South DeKalb?
Home sales in Atlanta Zip Code 30316 had another successful year with 683 home sold, which was an increase in sales from the prior year, one of the few zip codes to do so. However, inventory was much lower, interest rates increased and the current federal government concerns started to weigh on the market. However, looking at the many neighborhoods in Atlanta 30316 such as Bouldercrest Acres, Cabbagetown, East Atlanta, East Atlanta Village, Eastside Walk, Gresham Park, Ormewood Park, Reynoldstown, and Charleston Pointe, the number of homes sold per year increased by 30% over the 5 year period. 527 homes were sold in 2013.
The highest priced home sold in Atlanta in 2018 was slightly above $1 million and the lowest priced home was $25,000. Compare that with 2013 and the lowest priced sold home in 2013 was, get this, $1. Yes, that’s how bad things were. The highest priced home in 2013 was $625,000.
The median price of home rose in 2018 vs 2017 from $310,000 to $340,000. The median price of a home in 30316 in 2013 was $175,000.
In most zips codes in DeKalb the average days on the market increased showing signs that the market is getting back to the normal 60-90 days on the market. But looking back at the dire times in 2013 it took 52 days for a home to sell, but in 2018 in took about a month to sell at 32 days.
Legislators are back in session for 2019 today and will soon take up a bill for the future of the proposed city of Greenhaven.
